Assignment POM

QUESTIONS 
Instruction: Choose any ONE (1) of the following topics.                                  (25 marks)
1.    Changes are part of the challenges that organisations have to face in order to be more competitive and to sustain their positions in the market. Identify one organisation of your choice that has been facing major changes and the effect of changes to that particular organisation. You are expected to include the following elements in your report:

i.              Background of the organisation: history, core business, key person, etc.
ii.             The changes and the forces of the changes (internal, external, technology, structure, people, etc.)
iii.            How did the changes affect the organisation? What happened to the organisation in terms of survival?
iv.           How did the organisation manage the changes?
v.            What are your suggestions and recommendations?
vi.           Other relevant elements.

2.    Identify any social event/ activity that was conducted by a business organisation near your town area recently. You are allowed to find the information through newspapers, magazines, the internet or any other resources available. Write your own report pertaining to the event, identifying what type of social involvement that was conducted by the particular organisation. You are expected to include your comments and recommendations pertaining to the event in the report.

3.    Generally, there are five types of objectives need to be achieved by business organisation in ensuring that the business is growing. Identify one business organisation of your choice; explain with examples what are the techniques and strategies being practiced by the particular organisation in achieving those objectives.


Note: Students are to work in a group of 5-6 students/ group. Besides internet research, students are encouraged to do some interviews with the relevant personnel of the particular organisation being chosen.
